Following a successful WinterFest 2012 in Kintail, next year's winter walking festival returns to Glen Affric and details will be posted on the web after Easter. Email Us if there is aparticular route or mountain you wish to climb on the high level walks, or a particular skill you would like to see covered during the winter skills sessions.
Choose from a High Level Munro (for those with winter walking skills already) or a Winter Skills Session to practise using crampons, ice axes, self arresting and navigation. All sessions are subject to weather conditions on the day and an alternative walk may have to be offered.
For the last three seasons, the returning snow conditions have made Scotland the winter destination in which to play. With WinterFest 2012 just around the corner, now is the time to plan your trip to the Highlands.
WinterFest 2012 gets you out into some of the most beautiful mountains Scotland has to offer, as we challenge you to experience something new.
WinterFest 2012 is all about just getting out there and giving it a go. At WinterFest HQ we have listened to your wish list and come up with an action packed weekend programme. Not only will you be able to join guided high and medium level walks, whilst brushing up on those winter skills, but we also invite you to try a snow-hole experience or to learn from the experts in our Avalance Awareness Day.
If you are missing that essential item of kit, then worry not, as once again we partner with Tiso Outdoor Experience, who can supply a full range of winter kit to hire at special WinterFest rates.
So join for the WinterFest welcome on Friday night or enjoy a Kit Night with demos on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, Scotland Outdoors magazine will provide a free copy of their winter issue for all participants.
We look forward to welcoming you to WinterFest 2012.
