WinterFest is back in poetic voice and, for 2013, returns home to Glen Affric. Let WinterFest bring the mountain to you – whether a seasoned hill walker, a mountain leader or someone just wanting to try their hand at winter walking.
There’s the chance to get up close and personal with the high Scottish tops; a day to try out new ice-axe and crampon skills (or refine old ones) and for 2013, we introduce ‘Snow Shelter Sunday’. From igloo to bivii, from snowhole to shovel up, this is a unique chance to get hands on with snow sheltering – offering a room with a view!
And the action doesn’t stop on the mountain, with a fun packed après WinterFest programme, with interesting talks and captivating images, gear demos and chat. You don’t need to be a walker to enjoy the evening environment. Rumour has it of a return appearance of the WinterFest pub quiz to test your knowledge of the Winter Hills and win a great prize donated by Tiso Outdoor Experience, Inverness.
