Aug 4 days Intermediate £390 per person |
Day 1
Inverness to Kingussie Time to ensure that our legs and steeds are
ready for the days to come. We become familiar with the Highland terrain.
Day 2 Tomintoul to Kingussie
From the highland village of Tomintoul we start the day exploring
the ancient routes of the crofters to take us through the Cairngorms and the
forest of Abernethy. As the trail gets trickier the scenery does too. Following
the Ryvoan pass and the Green Loch we discover the single tracks of
Rothiemurchas and Glen Feshie before our journey end at Kingussie.
Day 3 Kingussie to Fort
Augustus The military road to Fort Augustus reaches 770m at the
Corrieyairack pass. We are sure that general Wade built it with cross-country
mountain biking in mind in the 1700's. It is a challenging route of wilderness
feel that provides the reward of an amazing panorama and then a whopping
descent to Fort Augustus.
Day 4 Fort Augustus to
Inverness We return to Inverness but not before tasting a bit of the
Great Glen Way single track on the banks of Loch Ness.
