Proud to sponsor OuttaAffric 2012 - The 8th Glen Affric Walking Festival.
The National Trust for Scotland - Kintail & Affric Ranger Service.
Kintail & West Affric, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, is a wild landscape with exceptional mountain scenery, including the magnificent ridge of the Five Sisters.
This area offers amazing opportunities for outdoor activities whether it‘s a leisurely walk to the Falls of Glomach or a more challenging walk along our high ridges.
If scaling a Munro, a peak over 300ft, is not for you, then why not try something new. The sheltered waters of Loch Duich and Loch Long offer an ideal location to learn to sea kayak under the expert tuition of our Rangers.
The Ranger Service offers a variety of guided events throughout the summer, including a Battle site walk - new for 2011. You can learn about the Jacobite uprising of 1719, a little less known than Culloden but one of the few battle sites in the UK that still retains some archaeological evidence of the event.
For further information on any of our events or to obtain our 2011 events guide contact the Ranger Service on 0844 493 2231 or kintail@nts.org.uk
Set amidst arguably the most beautiful Glen in Scotland, Outta Affric will see walkers journeying around, up and down several Munros and Corbetts. For 2011 we aim to entice you on walks that will arm you with new skills, hopefully raising your awareness of this outstanding wild and mountainous environment.
During the festival, we re-visit some old friends on classic Affric walks, whilst adding new twists to established routes. We will even introduce you to new walks on Munros not yet visited as part of the Festival.
For 2011 our aspirations are set high. In the coming years we aim to make Outta Affric a carbon neutral event. We ask you to help us in this quest. Not only can you join us on one of the new Outta Affric green events, but you can also agree to contribute to our carbon neutral scheme.
Why not join your guides during the evening for talks, slide shows and welcome drinks. We look forward to welcoming you to Outta Affric, so see you in June.
