Williamson Across Ross
24th - 25th May 2008
Walkers are invited to join us on this 55 mile
classic 2 day charity walk through some of the Scottish Highlands' most remote
scenery. You can also choose a shorter 15 mile one day walk from Croich Church
to Braentra, by Ardross. Entry for the 2-day walk is at £40 and for the 1
day walk at £20. This includes transportation to start of walk, meals
throughout the 2 day walk and overnight stop. You must however supply your own
tent, sleeping bag and sleeping mat, which will be taken to the campsite for
you.
Day 1 kicks off in Ullapool on the west coast of Scotland and heads
east along Glen Achall and the remote Strath Mulzie. Walkers will camp en-route
1 mile from the famous Croich Church, where the army will have prepared a
nutritious supper for all to indulge.
Day 2 follows the beautiful Glen
Calvie to Diebidale and onward to Strathrusdale, entirely off-road, before
picking up the final leg to Dalmore Distillery on the east coast for a well
earned dram.
This event gives walkers the rare opportunity to
experience these remote Glens far from the madding crowd. The event is entirely
supported by marshals, first aiders and sweepers, leaving walkers to enjoy
their traffic free journey. Transportation is provided as are all drinks, meals
and refreshments along the way.
The Williamson Across Ross has been
organised for over 10 years and has raised over £140,000 for the
children's charity CHILDREN 1st.
