SECTION 1
CANNICH - DOG FALLS 0 to 8.96 km
Short road section up a hill to enter forest tracks at head of Glen Cannich, leading to short single track section joining downhill forest track to Dog Falls. Toilets here. Road back to Cannich if needed.
SECTION 2
DOG FALLS - TOMICH MONUMENT 8.96km - 32.57 km
Climb for views across Glen Affric and head along Loch Bean a Meadhoin before climb up and over into conservation village of Tomich. First refreshment stop here. 20 milers carry on through Tomich and back along road to Cannich. 48 milers head into Guisachan Forest and up past the wild boar reserve at Hilton. A rough cross country off-road section brings you to fishing lochs at the Tomich Monument. Water stop.
SECTION 3
MONUMENT - CORRIMONY CAIRNS 32.57 km - 42.63 km
Remember to look back to the views of the Affric mountains before cycling through the RSPB Reserve at Corrimony. Rough off-road biking here and a bumpy downhill section, leading to an estate road before the relief of a short road section through Corrimony. Refreshment stop here. No Toilets. Start of 2nd 20 mile option. Road back to Cannich if needed.
SECTION 4
CORRIMONY - SHENVAL LOOPS 42.63km - 60.4km
A climb above Glen Urquhart brings you to the Shenval loops on fire roads, before you head back down to Corrimony.
SECTION 5
SHENVAL - CANNICH 60.4km - 76.12km
A stretch along the A831, watching out for 2 road junctions heralds the 3rd refreshment stop at Millness, where you turn back into the forest. Although on very old double track this challenging off-road section provides a tough climb with a phenomenal reward through rarely visited estates. The return journey back along the lovely single track road along Eskadale welcomes the finish point in Cannich.
